We are non-profit organisation
Hi! I'm Agatha Nsiimire. In 2013, I saw the poverty gripping Buvuma Island and knew something had to change. After talking with locals and researching, I found the answer: growing cocoa and vanilla. With expert trainers from Kampala, I taught the community how to farm these valuable crops.
Change we make
Despite challenges with transportation, water, and electricity, Eco Granja created jobs that transformed lives. Take Mugisha for instance. Before working on the farm, his 11 children couldn’t attend school. Now, all of them are getting an education. And it’s not just Mugisha’s family that has been transformed. Women who once relied on their husbands' fishing income are now earning their own money and securing a brighter future for their children.
My vision
My vision goes beyond farming. I plan to open learning farms where students all over the world can learn about sustainable agriculture and how to transform vanillas and cocoa into valuable products.
Eco Granja isn’t just farms. It’s growing hope and opportunity. By buying Eco Granja’s product or supporting this project, you're helping to grow jobs, education, and hope for people in Buvuma island.
